DeliciouSweets ¡Introduction
DeliciouSweets are seven women who sing and dance, backed up by a
four-man band on drums,keyboards, bass, and guitar. Due to their visceral
performances, the group also refers to itself as the wHuman-smell
CabaretxII
In recent years, DeliciouSweets have regularly filled 400-seat venues,
and have attracted a following among all strata of society, from
students to housewives.
DeliciouSweets have performed at venues and events throughout Japan,
including the Yasukuni Shrine Mitama Festival, the Ikebukuro Kishibojin
Festival,
and the Sapporo Temple Festival. Recently, having been featured in
the Nihon Keizai Shinbun
(Japanese Economic Newspaper), DeliciouSweets have reached an even
wider-ranging audience.
¡A Brief History
The first incarnation of DeliciouSweets was in 1998, as a fashion
and dance show under
the direction of Chaamar Heidi. In 2000, with the addition of live
music,
the group took on its current form, and worked, in the years that
followed,
to refine its performances and build a following within the local
live music scene.
